Asian Screening Array
Powerful and preferred genomic tool for Asians.
Simply put, the ASA was developed by American chip manufacturer, Illumina, to provide a more accurate and detailed analysis for the Asian population. Integrating its iScan® System and Infinium's High-Throughput Sequencing (HTS) technologies, ASA is able to detect over 750,000 gene loci and accounts for one of the highest efficacy rates. With its wide coverage of low-frequency mutations, we are able to detect mutation sites that are closely associated to onset of many diseases and traits.

The ASA was developed from the data of over 9000 whole-genome sequences across Asia, including samples from Singapore, Malaysia, China, Japan, Korea, and many others. This provides a genomic tool that has a wide coverage of Asian population.

With this as a basis, our partner laboratories have added 50,000 biomarkers to include Y-SNPs, MT-SNPs and autosomal-related sites related to ancestry, complex diseases (such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, metabolic diseases, mental diseases, tumours, etc.), genetic diseases, new-born birth defects, and other screening sites, including but not limited to personality characteristics and personal characteristics.
